It was the first day of the programme. An exposure to the career as a doctor. I did not know what to expect. Would it be tiring? Informative? Hands-on? All talks? I was confused - what should I expect?
So I googled it up. 'Program Pendedahan Seorang Doktor'. I found a very interesting blog. The author attended this programme too. So, I took a look. From what he had described, I imagined the programme to be truly packed and really informative.
On the first day, I was late. Not really LATE actually, but right on time. I have forgotten that those who would be attending would be very disciplined, yes, really disciplined. The hall was already packed. I had to sit at the last row. (This was the first time I ever sat in the last row!)
Anyway, the first day was all talks. The first doctor told us on what should we expect if we take up medicine and become a doctor in the future.
He asked us, "Why are we interested in becoming a doctor?" The general answer was 'passion, satisfaction, high salary, parents' demand' and so on. The list was long.
However, the doctor told us the reality:-
1. The number of new doctors are increasing every year. By the year of 2015, we can expect 7000-8000 doctors emerging from medical schools. This means, the number of doctors in Malaysia would be 'more than enough'.
2. There would be a change of healthcare needs. Doctors are no longer a frontier against critical illnesses where doctors can save lives. Instead, doctors would be trying to advise their patients due to their lifestyles.
3.We are not lack of doctors. But we are lack of specialists. If we want to pursue medicine, become a specialist!
And I am undetermined yet. Should I become a doctor?
This is just some etches of what I think that I can share...
Welcome to this reading area... I hope that I don't bore you... :) There's just this feeling to write down what I think worth to be shared...:)

When there are choices...
Choices are great but then I don't like them, especially when it is about the future. Life is tough for all SPM-leavers. Most of us do not know what we want - medicine, engineering, law, tesl, accounting... There are just too many choices. And that's where the problem starts.
I do not like to make huge decisions but when you are at this stage(post-SPM), you just have to accept the fact that you are suddenly a half-adult and become very matured miraculously. That's when you start to think - what am I going to do in the future?
Personally, I am stuck between medicine and engineering. Medicine is great. It helps people but it is just too stressful. People's life in your hands.
Engineering is fun. (You don't have to memorize the terms anymore.) but the contribution to the society is not very direct. Not much satisfaction as an engineer, at least, that's what I think.
So, everything has their own pro and contra. So, when you make a decision, just go for it. Don't look back. Make sure that you enjoy the pro's and are able to bear the con's. Good luck everyone. :)

Engineering? Medic??? This issue again???
I have done a simple research on the jobscope as a doctot. To qualify as a doctor, we have to ask ourselves :-
1. Am I willing to sacrifice my time, my energy and basically my life?
2. Can I BEAR not to sleep at least 7 hours a day?
3. Can I concentrate even with the drowsiness?
4. Am I motivated enough to become a doctor? Can I NOT blame myself if anything goes wrong with the patient due to MY carelessness?
5. Can I handle stress well?
6. Can I be on-call for 12 hours straight in a day, without stopping to rest?
7. Am I myself strong and healthy enough?
8. Can I stand the high-tense environment working as a doctor?
9. Am I willing to risk others lives for the betterment of profession? (in such a way as to practise a new and 'better' type of treatment that is not insured 100% safe)
Anyway, to anyone who want to apply for medicine, I should advise you to reconsider these questions.
This is a quote I get from another blog (not EXACT quote)...'Being a doctor is not a glamourous career, its about the sacrifice...'
'Being a doctor is an act of showing the patients that God still cares."

People
1. I give you a situation here. We are living in a community with diversity. Yet, They are not united. There are this group of people who can only hate people that are better than they are. There's this proverb, 'Don't judge people by its cover." Yet, people change in face with jealousy. They hate it when others are better than they are. That is when they start spreading speculations about others. But did they do anything to change themselves? No! These are people whom we call as 'pathetic'.
2. Then, there are people who can think of nothing else except for THEMSELVES. These selfish people are not considerate at all. Have they ever put themselves in other's shoes? They can only think of their own advantages. Ever wondered why crimes can happen in daylight, yet, criminals can escape in a breeze? Selfish people can only see their ownselves in this world. If we have spent more time helping others, life could be better for all of us, yet...
3. People like to find faults with each other. When problem arises, instead of finding a way to solve it, they start blaming on each other instead. Why should they do so? Haven't they done any mistake before? Yes, these are DESPERATE people.

That's it!!! That's the society...
Society is in fact a very special one. Look at their behaviour,,, Ferocious...Angry...Self-centered...And what I mean is, do you see a lot of good people lurking around??? Definitely no!
But there's exception in everything...Well, you see, my dad just moved his company...And a Samaritan whom my father barely knows come forward to help...It may be a cliche in a novel...but its in real life..in a city and definitely, this shows us that silver lining is not lost at all!!! We only have to be more considerate and patient to see good aspects of our society...
Believe me, all good is not lost...To begin changing our society, lets change ourselves :-
1. Stop being self-centered. Look around you and see where you can help others. Don't ask what people did to you, but ask what you can do to the society...Remember, life is all about give and take!
2. Be considerate of others. Not everyone is as lucky as you are.
3. Be more satisfied with what you have. Compare yourself with people less fortunate... Not everyone is as lucky as you are...So, stop licking your own wounds!!!

Politics are like a drama
It is very funny to see politicians basically tearing each other's throats off. They are supposed to be the leaders of their people. They themselves should have shown good values for their people. Leaders shape the future. They are the frontiers for the image of our country. Imagine our embarrassment when our politicians, also known as leaders are shown in international news for their misbehavior in the parliament.
They should have :
1. Shake hands (sincerely) and work together as a team, no matter they are from which party. We elect them to lead us, not to show which party is better.
2. Quit fighting over things that cannot be changed. There are reasons why something is implemented. Don't simply ban an idea just because it comes from another party. Remember, the parliament shapes the future of our country. Internal conflicts DO NOT help anything.
3. Give good reasons when they want to ban an idea or implement a new thing. There's no need for fighting without a valid reason. Please let the parliament to be peaceful!
3.
